Common Questions About Morpheus8
What is Morpheus8?
Morpheus8 is a non-surgical advanced micro-needling treatment. When we age, our skin begins to lose elasticity, with wrinkles, lines, and sagging appearing. Using radiofrequency, a Morpheus8 treatment stimulates collagen production to tighten and smooth wrinkles on the face and body. Morpheus8 comfortably penetrates the skin at a deeper level than other needling treatments, transforming your complexion and restoring more youthful facial skin.
Is Morpheus8 safe?
The procedure has been cleared by the FDA after demonstrating safety in clinical studies, and thousands of treatments have been performed worldwide without any significant adverse events.
What areas can I treat with Morpheus8?
Dr. Kruy is the first in Massachusetts to offer the Morpheus8 body handpiece with Burst technology which can treat to a thermal depth of 8mm to remodel adipose tissue, diminish cellulite, and tighten skin on the body.
How quickly will I see results with Morpheus8?
Patients may enjoy some initial effect within three weeks but the ultimate lifting and toning will take place over three months, as tired collagen is renewed and replaced with new, stronger collagen.
How long does the Morpheus8 treatment take?
Each treatment is customized to the area that is being treated. A treatment usually takes 30 – 60 minutes.
Is the Morpheus8 treatment painful?
Comfort thresholds vary from patient to patient, but there can be some discomfort while the treatment is being performed. We have you arrive 45 minutes prior to the procedure so we can apply topical numbing to the area to be treated. The discomfort is temporary and a positive signal that the collagen-building process has been initiated. We will be sure to consult with you prior to your treatment to make your experience as pleasant as possible. Patients typically leave comfortable and excited about the benefits to come!
Will I need more than one treatment?
The majority of patients need 2 – 4 treatments in each area.
Is there downtime with Morpheus8?
Most people return to work the day after their treatment. Post-treatment, you may see a bit of pinpoint bleeding from the needles. This should only last for a few minutes. There may be slight redness for a few hours or so following the treatment, and a small percentage of patients may have slight swelling, tingling or tenderness to touch, but these are mild and temporary in nature. A good moisturizer and a broad-spectrum sunscreen are recommended. Makeup can be applied two days after the procedure. There is always the possibility for other less common post-procedural effects, which your practitioner will review with you.
