VI Peel

VI Peel in Waltham & Boston, MA

Over time, the body’s ability to naturally exfoliate weakens, leaving an excess of dead skin cells on the outer dermis that can make the skin seem faded and worn.

Finesse Cosmetic Surgery now carries a fix for these cosmetic issues with the VI Peel® from Varithena, a chemical peel designed to aid the body in the removal of dead skin cells from the face, bringing fresher layers of dermis to the surface and restoring lost luminescence.

If you’re still in wonder about how the VI Peel® can work to benefit you aesthetically, contact us today and discover for yourself.

How does the VI Peel® Work?

The VI Peel® is typically applied and spread onto the face with a sponge, and then left for a specified amount of time to settle in order for the effects to take place.  The chemical solution then breaks the bonds keeping the dead skin cells on the outermost layer of the skin, which allows for them to be removed with the peel.

The treatment typically takes about 20 to 45 minutes to be completed.  A cooling agent may be used afterwards to combat the mild tingling sensation that follows the peel.

What can the VI Peel® Treat and What Makes it Special?

The VI Peel has been clinically proven to be effective against:

  • Fine Lines
  • Acne and Acne Scarring
  • Wrinkles and Fine Lines
  • Sun Spots
  • Age Spots
  • Hyperpigmentation
  • Enlarged Pores

The treatment is a non-surgical one and requires no incision into the skin, meaning that it’s about as invasive as a wrinkle cream while at the same time being significantly more effective and long lasting.

There is also minimal downtime necessary for the procedure and patients should be able to resume their day afterwards, although they won’t be able to wash their face for a few hours following the treatment.  This caution is necessary in order for the peel to work optimally.

Is this a Safe Treatment?

All of the components of the chemical solution used in the VI Peel® have been approved by the F.D.A for cosmetic use and the treatment is effectively administered thousands of times a year.

Regardless, safety is important enough to us to be evaluated on an individual basis, because of this, one of our professionals will sit down with you to have a conversation about your prior medical history.  This is done in order to search for complicating conditions that could affect the efficiency of the treatment as well as the patient’s well being.

Do I Qualify?

Chemical peels should not be used on pregnant women, but otherwise, most healthy adults in need of a minimally invasive solution to dull and blemished looking skin will be suitable candidates for the treatment.
