The idea of throwing away your razors and never having to shave off unwanted hair from your body again sounds great, right? The problem with shaving is that it does not always produce the best results, and it can come with a lot of unwanted side effects. You do not get long-lasting results with shaving. Depending on how quickly your hair grows, you may even notice hair regrowth just a couple of hours later. If you have sensitive skin, you have likely dealt with ingrown hairs, razor burn and skin irritation. Laser hair removal can let you throw away your razor for good.
The results that you can expect after your laser hair removal treatment include a dramatic reduction in the thickness and density of your hair in the treated areas. After you go through our complete treatment plan, you can expect permanent hair reduction. The best way for you to find out about the long-term results that you can get is to come in for a consultation. This is an obligation-free consultation that will help you determine if you are a good candidate for the treatment and if you will be satisfied with the results you see.
When you come in for your complimentary consultation, we will help you decide if laser hair removal is the right treatment for you. If you are serious about laser hair removal and think that you are a good candidate, we strongly recommend that you take steps to prepare for the treatment in the days before your consultation. Two weeks prior to treatment, you should refrain from plucking and waxing, as the hair follicle needs to be present for the laser to be able to target and disable it. We do, however, recommend that you shave prior to your treatment to let the laser find the follicle more easily. You can even use certain types of scrubs and exfoliation methods to further prepare your skin for treatment.
The consultation is very short. We will ask you about your overall health and examine the area that you would like to have treated. Based on your hair color and skin tone and type, we can give you a realistic idea of what the treatment will do for you.
You can expect your laser hair removal treatments to be very quick. Depending on the area that you would like to treat, each session can last between five and 45 minutes. Most people experience little to no discomfort with the treatment, but we can first apply a topical numbing cream if desired.
You will likely need multiple treatment sessions to get the results you want to see. This is because the laser can only target the hair follicle when it’s in the growth phase, but not every follicle is in the same phase at the same time. Several sessions spaced about four to eight weeks apart will ensure you target every follicle in the treated area.
