Juvederm Voluma in Waltham & Boston, Massachusetts

One of the first signs of aging is a loss of fat volume in the mid-face (cheeks). As a result, there has been a demand for a longer lasting filler to temporarily correct volume loss in the cheek area. This need can now be met with the introduction of Juvederm Voluma. This new hyaluronic acid filler has recently been approved by the FDA and released by Allergan, the same company who brought Botox to consumers. While the results are temporary, it does offer results that last longer than other fillers on the market; a quality unique to Voluma.

Our surgeons have undergone advanced training in the injection of Juvederm Voluma. He has achieved elite Platinum level status in the Allergan Physician Network. If you are interested in getting more information, or booking your appointment with our office, contact us today.

Common Juvederm Voluma Questions

JUVÉDERM VOLUMA XC is indicated for deep (subcutaneous and/or supraperiosteal) injection for cheek augmentation to correct age-related volume deficit in the mid-face in adults over the age of 21.

As you age, the cheek area loses its youthful shape. The cheeks flatten out and the skin may begin to sag. JUVÉDERM VOLUMA XC injectable gel is designed to temporarily reverse these signs of aging. It is a gel that is injected into the cheek area to lift the skin. It temporarily adds volume to the cheek area and results in a smoother contour and more youthful appearance to the face.

It is injected into the cheek area using a small needle.

While individual results may vary, in clinical studies, the results lasted up to 18 – 24 months in a majority of subjects treated with JUVÉDERM VOLUMAXC. After this, repeat injections are needed to maintain your desired result.

Injections may cause some minor discomfort during and after the treatment. We use topical anesthetic cream to numb the area to be treated. The syringe also contains lidocaine which is a topical anesthetic

The injection process takes about 20 – 30 minutes.

Most subjects in the clinical study experienced tenderness, swelling, firmness, and/or lumps/bumps at the injection site, as reported in their 30-day daily diary. These side effects were usually mild to moderate in severity and do not require treatment. The symptoms can generally last 2 to 4 weeks.
